Program Eligibility:
The Metal Intellectualist Scholarship is awarded to undergraduate students interested in producing a piece of writing which addresses at least one of the two following topics:
- (1) some intellectual aspect of metal music
- (2) some challenge created by organized religion in modern society
To apply, students submit a research proposal of no more than 750 words.
Priority will be given to students whose piece of writing will earn course credit at their college or university, either as an assignment in an existing course or as a stand-alone written assignment in an independent study course.
An active college or university email address is required, and the winner will conduct a short video interview to verify enrollment status.

For the 2027-2028 academic year The Metal Intellectualist Scholarship Fund will award 1000$ to 1 undergraduate student.
